Mark R. Evces, PhD, ABPP completed a BS in Biology at Indiana University, an M.Ed. in Community Counseling and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Georgia. He is board certified (ABPP) in Clinical Psychology. He was a postdoctoral psychology fellow at the NYU School of Medicine/Bellevue Hospital Center before assuming a full-time position as a psychologist at the NYU Langone Health Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases. He subsequently served for ten years as Clinical Instructor of Psychiatry at the NYU School of Medicine, and Assistant Director of Mental Health in the NYU School of Medicine WTC Health Program Clinical Center of Excellence.

Dr. Evces stepped away from NYUSOM to found WorkHaven, LLC, a group of clinical psychologists dedicated to helping values-driven organizations achieve excellence through wellness, resilience, equitable practice and ethical leadership. 

Dr. Evces has served in a variety of research and training roles. His clinical interests include understanding effective approaches to psychotherapy across diverse problems and populations.  He has an additional interest in disaster mental health response and, with Dr. Gertie Quitangon, co-edited Vicarious Trauma and Disaster Mental Health: Understanding Risks and Promoting Resilience, published by Routledge Press in 2015. Dr. Evces has taught courses and lectured in psychology and psychotherapy at several universities including the University of Georgia and the NYU School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry.

Dr. Evces continues to provide and supervise integrative, evidence-based psychotherapy in his psychotherapy practice.
